Lexus of Nashville Welcomes Suzy and James Cameron
LOCAL DESIGNER BRINGS LONDON RUNWAY SHOW TO NASHVILLE
Jeff Garner to fuse fashion, music, art, charity, and fine dining when showcasing Prophetik’s fall/winter collection at The Standard Nashville, Tenn. (March 31, 2010) – After launching his all sustainable fall/winter collection and showing at London Fashion Week earlier this year, Jeff Garner, Nashville native and founder of eco-friendly clothing line Prophetik, is pleased to announce a hometown fashion show for his American Civil War inspired clothing line “Southern Shores.” The event will take place atThe Standard, located at 167 Rosa L. Parks Blvd (8th Ave. North), in Nashville on Friday, April 23rd with festivities beginning at 5 PM and an outdoor runway show, open to the public, beginning at 8 PM. Proceeds from the event will benefit Suzy Amis Cameron’s MUSE Elementary, a non-profit school in Topanga, California. Ticket packages range from $10 to $300 and are available by calling (615) 403-5102 or by visiting http://www.nashvillesouthernshores.eventbrite.com/ With their recent showing in London—of which Garner was one of 33 designers chosen out of over 1,000 to present—Prophetik is gaining national attention. Recently featured in Vanity Fair, Elle, Lucky, and more, outlets such as CNN have gone on the record touting Garner’s eco-friendly garment manufacturing and design. Advocate of all things eco friendly, Garner has hopes of changing the fashion industry with his philosophy “The Sustainable Journey” which he interprets as, “a meaningful analysis and evaluation of any product’s relationship to the environment”—specifically, criteria including low-impact production, low-impact maintenance, and recyclable materials. Garner, who has clothing locally sold at Posh Boutique and Whole Foods Body, immediately recognized the importance of having a charity focus in coordination with his fashion line. After attending college at Pepperdine and forming close ties to the area, including Suzy Amis Cameron’s (wife of film director James Cameron), Garner chose to work with MUSE Elementary, a non-profit elementary school that teaches and educates children on how to live an environmentally conscious lifestyle. “More and more lines have a charity attached to create awareness about the overall brand and what it stands for,” says Garner who hopes aspiring designers and even competitors will follow him to greener pastures. “I always try to educate. I am small, but I want to inspire big companies.” Fashionista’s interested in being inspired on this unforgettable evening can choose from a variety of ticket options beginning with red carpet arrival of celebrities and VIPs at 5 PM, followed by cocktails from 5-6 PM, during which time Prophetik is pleased to present a silent auction featuring Suzy Amis Cameron’s “Red Dress for the Green Carpet” designers’ creations for auction. Dinner will be served from 6-8pm for the first 100 guests purchasing the respective VIP tickets, which include access to an open bar, runway seating, and after party.
